Turkey treatment checklist: 10 checks before you pay
A practical checklist for patients comparing clinics in Turkey. It does not replace medical advice; it helps you ask the right questions and keep evidence.
Before you pay
- Confirm the facility is on the Ministry of Health authorised-facility list and write down its licence number.
- Ask which surgeon will perform the procedure and confirm their specialty and registration.
- Request accreditation certificates (TÜSKA, JCI, ISO) and check them with the issuing body.
- Ask whether complication insurance is included and who covers follow-up treatment.
- Get a written, itemised quote: procedure, anaesthesia, medication, hotel, transfer and revision policy.
- Ask explicitly what is not included in the package.
- Confirm the recovery timeline and the minimum stay in Turkey.
- Ask for the aftercare plan, emergency contact and who answers questions after you return home.
- Check that the clinic address matches the address on the licence and official registry record.
- Keep copies of every document, quote and payment receipt; do not pay in full before written confirmation.
